Active Youth’s Promoters are 6 organizations (CEPORA from Serbia, Learning Unit Malta, Liceo Scientifico Statale Ernesto Basile from Italy, Soziokratie Zentrum Oesterreich from Austria, VICE VERSA CZ ZS from Czech Republic, coordinated by Uniamoci from Italy) who are cooperating for 2 years (September 2023 – August 2025) to find effective strategies and tools to promote youth’s active citizenship, sense of initiative, civic engagement, and participation in the life of their local and European community.
We want to be able to break the chains that prevent youth from taking a step forward and take responsibility, to remove the blindfold over their eyes that prevents them from seeing the opportunities they have to make the change, to find the right channels to make their voices heard.
This is made possible by the European Union, which is co- financing the homonymous project, Active Youth’s Promoters – a cooperation partnership in youth under the Erasmus+ programme.
The project consists in the creation and piloting of:
– a complete and innovative workshop to support youth workers, educators, and teachers to “activate youth”
– a digital Guide for Active Youth: a support structure to simplify project management and implementation, and the application for Erasmus+ Youth Participation Activities
– a training for trainers for the promotion of the project maieutic approach
All are accompanied by a communication campaign to affirm the value of the young generations.
This will result in an effective strategy to promote youth’s active participation, with long-lasting effects, thanks to its maieutic approach, increased know-how among youth workers, educators and teachers, digitalization and rejuvenation of youth work, creation of supportive tools for active participation to be independently used by young people, upskilled and active youth and change the narrative around youth and youth work.
Young people are not satisfied with the society they live in: they feel unheard, they have a lot of interesting and concrete sound ideas and proposals; but they don’t know how – or do not believe enough in their potential – to turn them into actions: interdisciplinarity, easy language, training of trainers, promotion of self-awareness and good communication are the Active Youth’s Promoters equipment to create empowerment.
